[Webinar Video] HANAPEPE Massacre Mystery 1924

Last October 13, 2022, Positively Filipino hosted a webinar on the film project “HANAPEPE Massacre Mystery 1924”

For 98 years, this fight between Filipino labor workers and police in the island of Kauai, Hawaii was virtually forgotten. Sixteen Filipinos and four policemen died in this battle. This new documentary hopes to uncover the mysteries in this massacre and find the remains of the Filipinos who died. Moderated by veteran journalist Lloyd LaCuesta, the panel consisted of director and executive producer Stephanie J. Castillo, and producer and lead researcher Christopher Ballesteros.
