Elmer D. Cruz and Emerson R. Rosales from their book Pulutan: From the Soldiers' Kitchen

Prep and Cooking Time: 1 hour and 30 minutes

 Ingredients

3 tablespoons butter

6 tablespoons chopped oniions

1 1/2 kilos pork spareribs, chopped

3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1/2 tablespoon whole peppercorns

1 cup water

1 cup grated cheese

2 small cans liver spread

2 tablespoons chopped pickles

1/2 teaspoon chopped siling labuyo (chili pepper)

Salt to taste

Preparation

1. Heat the butter in a pan then saute the onions. Add spareribs and cooked until browned.

2. Add some salt, Worcestershire sauce and peppercorns. Simmer for 5-10 minutes.

3. Pour in water and simmer until pork is tender.

4. Add cheese, liver spread, pickles and siling labuyo. Stir well and simmer for 5 minutes. Season to taste.

Serves 6 - 8 persons
