Philippine International Aid (PIA), together with Philippine Airlines, presents “Holiday Haute Couture XII,” a luncheon fashion show fundraiser on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Hyatt Embarcadero featuring the designs of Barge Ramos. The event also features a Christmas bazaar and auction. Emcees include veteran journalists Lloyd LaCuesta and Diane Dwyer. The event also features Broadway actress Joan Almedilla who appeared as Kim in Miss Saigon and Fantine in Les Miserables.
Barge Ramos is best known for his barong designs, using indigenous fabrics, such as jusi and piña, with modern stylings. His women's clothing line also feature ethnic weaves and designs.
Philippine Airlines is providing the airfare of Ramos and choreographer, Ogee Atos. Galleria Park Hotel is providing the accommodations. The holiday fashion show is PIA’s annual fundraiser.
PIA is on its 27th year of providing educational assistance to disadvantaged Filipino youth in the Philippines and in the San Francisco Bay Area. PIA is a volunteer organization.
