[PARTNER] Help Crowdfund #EmergingUS

I've created a news media company--the first to be owned by an undocumented immigrant, and among the first to be owned by a Filipino American in the U.S. And I need your help.

As HuffPost reported, #EmergingUS lives at the intersection of race, immigration, and identity in a multicultural America. In an election year in which American identity itself is at stake, #EmergingUS will produce original videos, essays, articles, podcasts, photo/slideshows all about the emerging American identity. Our multimedia content will live on EmergingUS.com and will also be distributed through various platforms by selected media partners. At the core of our journalistic mission is our exploration of this urgent question: Who are we, and who are we becoming?

And rather than raise money from venture capitalists, rather than be nested inside a larger media entity, #EmergingUS needs to live on its own, without the constraints that investors or a larger media partner will bring us. #EmergingUS is starting from the ground-up, people-funded and people-supported. To that end, #EmergingUS has partnered with Beacon, the Kickstarter for journalism, in launching the largest journalism crowdfunding campaign yet: $1 million in matching funds.
