Top Taxpayers in the Philippines
/Celebrity Kris Aquino, youngest sister of President Noynoy Aquino, paid the most taxes in the Philippines in 2011, beating out the country's billionaires, according to data from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
Aquino paid nearly P50 ($1.2) million in income taxes in 2011. None of the country’s billionaires were on the Top Ten. Mall tycoon Henry Sy, Sr., named the richest man in the Philippines by Forbes magazine, ranked 15th on the BIR list with P17 million ($411k) income tax.
