Subject Title: Sinehan sa Konsulado Shorts Night II
The Philippine Center is on Fifth Avenue between 45th and 46th Streets.
Shorts Night II will honor the talent of Phil and Phil Am filmmakers with a selection of Cinemalaya finalists and Extra Mile's peripatetic Know Your North pieces, among others.
As in the last Sinehan shorts night (before the pandemic) this year's Sinehan is privileged with the participation of a one-minute experimental short by Lav Diaz.
The Sinehan actively seeks to feature and empower Phil Am filmmakers, but this year has seen much fewer submissions due to the pandemic. Congratulations to Coco Tolentino for keeping the Phil Am flag aloft at the Sinehan 2021. He will be on hand for a talk back.
Per consulate guidance, there will be health protocols in place, including temperature checks, masks, hand sanitizer station, limited seating/RSVP required.
Congratulations to Ari director Carlo Catu, writer Robbie Tantingco, and Kapampangan co-creators for last night's well attended and moving Indie Night I. Closing/Indie Night II, on September 2, will feature Sheron Dayoc's internationally awarded, powerful Halaw/Ways of the Sea. Will relay the e-flyer as it becomes available.
