Filipinos are invited to view “Synchronicity,” by Lorina Tayag-Capitulo, at the 2023 London Art Biennial from July 27 to 30 at Chelsea Old Town Hall on London’s King’s Road. Tayag-Capitulo is one of three Philippine finalists to the 2023 London Art Biennial. The other two Filipino finalists are Christopher B. Abeleda and Ramon Luis Lopez Evangelista.

The London Art Biennial is a celebration of art from all over the world. Over 350 artists from all traditions and lines of thought have been selected for the exhibition. Artists will be awarded prizes that include a £5,000 GBP prize and exhibition opportunities in notable museums.

Lorina Tayag-Capitulo is a Filipino-American artist whose creative work spans over three decades and has won awards in both sculpture and painting. “Synchronicity” relates to the artist’s dedication to the arts while dealing with the realities of life. From Angeles City, Pampanga to Long Island, New York in the United States, Tayag-Capitulo continues to explore themes of displacement, resilience, and hope, which resonate with the experience of many Filipinos working overseas or living new lives in adopted countries.

The exhibition is free to the public. Visitors are encouraged to consult the London Art Biennial website to plan their visit. Learn more about Lorina Tayag-Capitulo at http://lorinacapitulo.weebly.com/
