PHILIPPINE CONSULATES IN SF and LA CALL ON FIL-AM YOUNG PROFESSIONALS TO JOIN ONLINE INTERNSHIP IMPACT! 

The Philippine Consulates General in San Francisco and Los Angeles inform the Filipino American community that the U.S.-Asia Institute (USAI), with the support of the Philippine Embassy in Washington, D.C., is now accepting applications for the student internship program, "IMPACT! (Inspiring, Motivating and Preparing for Action towards Civic Transformation) Program for Filipino Americans." 

The US-Asia Institute, in cooperation with the Philippine Embassy in Washington DC, will conduct the nine-week 2021 IMPACT! Filipino American Internship Program in fully virtual/remote setting from June 7 to August 6, 2021.  The week of June 7, 2021 comprises a week-long orientation with fellow IMPACT participants, followed by the start of the internship.

Filipino-Americans who are 18 to 25 years old and enrolled as full-time undergraduates or graduate students in good academic standing or those who recently completed an undergraduate degree, are encouraged to apply for the program. Applicants must also possess leadership ability and good interpersonal skills and must have a record of community service.

The internship gives Filipino American young adults the opportunity to gain a firsthand look at the U.S. government and professional opportunities in Washington, DC, engage civically, and reflect on the role they, as future leaders, might play in strengthening the US-Philippines relations. 

Participants will receive the "Filipino Youth American Political Leadership Award" in the amount of a $1,000 stipend for participation in the program.

The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco has consular jurisdiction over Alaska, Northern California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Northern Nevada, Washington State, Wyoming, Utah.

The Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles has consular jurisdiction over Southern California covering the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, Imperial, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Kern, and San Luis Obispo; Southern Nevada covering the counties of Clark, Lincoln and Nye, and; State of Arizona (covering all counties).
