Hibla ng Lahing Filipino

The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco, in cooperation with the National Museum of the Philippines, the Office of Congresswoman Loren Legarda and the Philippine Center Management Board, invites you to the exhibit of Philippine indigenous textiles entitled, "Hibla ng Lahing Filipino" (The Artistry of Philippine textiles) Travelling Exhibition at the Kalayaan Hall of the Philippine Center. Opening Reception is on August 5 at 6 pm.

The exhibition, which highlights the piña-seda (pineapple and silk cloths) as a traditional and unique source of Philippine fiber cloth, will run from August 5 to 30, 2019, and will include lecture series, weaving demonstrations and embroidery workshops. These corollary activities to be conducted by resource speakers, master weavers and embroiderers from the Philippines, will showcase Philippine traditional handloom fabric.
Aside from the opening reception, we would like to extend the invitation to participate in the lecture series, weaving and embroidery demonstration and workshop on August 6, 8-9 at the Consulate.
