CineRizal Online Film Festival
/The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco cordially invites you and the members of the Filipino communities across the U.S. Pacific Northwest to Sentro Rizal San Francisco’s CineRizal Online Film Festival on Rizal Day, December 30, 2021, in commemoration of the 125th anniversary of the martyrdom of Dr. Jose P. Rizal.
The online filmfest, organized by the Consulate with the support of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), and the Areté of the Ateneo de Manila University, will feature the following films and documentaries on Rizal’s life and legacy:
1. World premiere of “Rizal’s Pen”, written and directed by Palanca Hall of Famer Nicholas B. Pichay, and produced by NCCA, the Cultural Center of the Philippines and Tanghalang Pilipino;
2. “Jose Rizal: Sa Landas Ng Paglaya” (Jose Rizal: On The Path To Freedom), produced by the NHCP;
3. Dr. Ambeth Ocampo’s “Rizal Without The Overcoat”, a Magisterial Lecture by Areté Ateneo; and
4. Paolo Ven Paculan, MA’s "Mga Tagông Detalye Sa Noli Me Tángere” (The Hidden Details In Noli Me Tángere), a Magisterial Lecture by Areté Ateneo.
The above-mentioned films and documentaries, as well as the Rizal Day video message of Philippine Consul General Neil Frank R. Ferrer, will be streamed on the Consulate’s official Facebook page (www.facebook.com/PHinSF) on December 30, 2021 at the following screening times: 7:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 10:00 p.m. (U.S. Pacific time).
