Ana "The Hurricane" Julaton fights Malaysian Ann Osman in Dubai MMA Match
/Julaton has competed professionally as a fighter since 2007, primarily as a boxer, winning a major world title in the female bantamweight division. Though her strengths lie in her ability to throw punches, Julaton says that she has trained in martial arts her entire life. A Filipino American based in Daly City, California, Julaton says the transition from Boxing to MMA was smooth because of her exposure to martial arts at a young age.
Her opponent, Osman, has one fight experience in MMA and inside the ONE FC cage, as does Julaton, who just recently signed with the promotion and made the transition from professional boxing to mixed martial arts.
Osman was last seen in a brutal war with Singapore’s Sherilyn Lim, a fight that was action-packed from the first minute to the last.
Julaton on the other hand, survived a rear naked choke attempt by opponent Aya-Saeid Saber in her cage debut, turning the tables and winning by TKO in the third round.
An Ana Julaton versus Ann Osman bout in Dubai (125lbs limit) adds an intriguing female matchup to an already stacked fight card which features four title fights. It is by and large the biggest ONE FC card yet and certainly has fans of the sport in the region excited to witness the biggest MMA show in Asia.
The event dubbed “Reign of Champions” will take place August 29, 2014 at the Dubai World Trade Center. It also features a lightweight clash between champion Shinya Aoki and opponent Kamal Shalorus, plus a welterweight title fight between Ben Askren and Nobutatsu Suzuki.
